Complicated promotions don't make you more money. They cost you sales because people give up trying to understand them.

The best holiday offers are simple. Twenty percent off everything. Buy two, get one free. Free shipping over fifty pounds. That's it.

When someone visits your site, they should understand your offer in three seconds. Not three minutes. Three seconds.

This matters more during the holidays because people are busy. They're shopping for multiple people. They're comparing prices across sites. They don't have time to decode your promotion structure.

Make it obvious.

Put your offer in the header of your website. Put it in your email subject line. Put it in the first line of your Instagram caption. Don't bury it. Don't make people hunt for it.

And here's the controversial part: you probably don't need a different promotion every day.

Flash sales sound exciting. In practice, they train customers to wait for the next deal. They create urgency fatigue. By day five of your "24-hour flash sale" series, nobody believes anything you say.

Pick one good offer. Run it for a clear timeframe. Tell people when it starts and when it ends. Then stick to it.

If you're doing a week-long sale, that's fine. If you're doing a single day, that's fine too. Just be clear about it and don't extend it three times because sales were slow.

The goal isn't to trick people into buying. It's to make buying easy for people who already want your product.

Simple beats clever every time.
