You Don't Need More Holiday Marketing Ideas
Sep 23, 2025
You need fewer, better ones.
Every November, small business owners panic. They see competitors launching elaborate campaigns and think they need to match that energy. So they try to be everywhere at once.
Big mistake.
Here's what actually happens when you spread yourself thin: your website gets half-updated with holiday messaging. Your email campaign goes out late because you were busy with social posts. Your ads run without proper testing because you ran out of time. Everything suffers.
The solution isn't working harder. It's choosing less.
Pick three marketing channels. Not five, not ten. Three. Maybe it's email, Instagram, and your website. Maybe it's Facebook ads, your storefront, and one good promotion. Whatever makes sense for your business.
Then do those three things well.
For email, that means actual planning. Write your subject lines in advance. Test your links. Make sure your images load. Segment your list so people get offers that matter to them. This isn't complicated, but it requires focus.
For your website, keep it simple. Add a banner. Create a holiday landing page. Set up a countdown timer if you're running a specific sale. Don't redesign the whole site. Don't add seventeen pop-ups. Just make it clear what you're offering and when.
For social media, batch your content. Spend two hours creating a week's worth of posts. Use the same festive template. Keep your message consistent. You don't need to post twelve times a day. You need to post good things regularly.
The businesses that win during the holidays aren't the ones doing the most. They're the ones doing the right things consistently.
What are your three things?
