The Work You Don’t See Is Usually The Work That Matters

Coleraine BID - Geoffrey Moffett

People remember the final clip.

They don’t remember the planning, the coordination, or the decisions made quietly under pressure.

During my time with Coleraine Business Improvement District, I led many digital aspects of the organisation, including public relations. Over time, that approach resulted in consistent coverage across Northern Ireland publications without chasing attention.

The Hannah Scott homecoming was the clearest example of that work coming together.

Coleraine BID led the event itself, supported by Causeway Coast & Glens Council. My role covered the digital layer surrounding it. Media distribution. Photography. Videography. Live graphics. Publishing content as the event unfolded.

We curated welcome home messages from well-known figures and local voices. We also captured videos from Hannah’s mum and dad, moments that required sensitivity rather than production.

Thousands of people attended, lining the streets of Coleraine. Across BID social channels and one of our publications alone, the content achieved hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of reactions.

It stands as one of the largest events Coleraine Business Improvement District has ever delivered.

Not because it went viral.

But because it was handled properly.
