The One Thing Every Kajabi Expert Should Know (But Most Don't)

kajabi Dec 01, 2025

Kajabi has limits.

Not many people want to hear this. Especially not the ones selling Kajabi courses or the ones who just invested in a Growth plan.

But it's true. And if you're hiring a Kajabi expert, you need one who knows where those limits are.

Because here's what happens when they don't: They tell you "yes" to everything. They force solutions that don't quite work. They build workarounds on top of workarounds until your site is a house of cards.

I've seen it dozens of times. Someone comes to me after working with another "expert" who promised them the world. Built them something that technically works but barely.

The truth? Sometimes Kajabi isn't the right answer.

Sometimes you need a different tool. Sometimes you need to simplify what you're trying to do. Sometimes you need to accept that what you want isn't what you need.

A real Kajabi expert knows this.

They're not trying to make every problem a Kajabi problem. They're trying to solve your actual problem, and if Kajabi is the right tool, great. If it's not? They'll tell you.

I've talked clients out of complex setups that would have worked but would have been a nightmare to maintain. I've recommended external tools when Kajabi's built-in solution wasn't good enough. I've even told people they weren't ready for Kajabi yet.

That last one never feels good. But it's honest.

Here's what most Kajabi experts won't tell you: The platform is incredible for certain things. Course delivery, membership sites, email marketing, landing pages—it's excellent.

But if you need robust affiliate tracking? If you need advanced conditional logic in your forms? If you need features that require constant custom code? You're fighting the platform.

And fighting your platform is exhausting.

The best Kajabi setups are the ones that work with Kajabi, not against it. That use its strengths and work around its weaknesses. That don't try to make it something it's not.

This is what 10 years of experience teaches you. Not how to make Kajabi do everything, but when to stop trying.

The worst Kajabi experts are the ones who never say no. The best ones? They say no all the time.

Because sometimes the most expert thing you can do is admit when a different approach would be better.

That's the difference between someone who knows Kajabi and someone who knows business.
